Likely cause for a game not starting.

Hey all.
I went to play Pop Breaker on my GG and it boots fine, however, when prompted to begin the game by pressing the Start button, nothing happens. The start buttons works properly with all other games, heck, I can even skip past the title screens on the exact game I'm having this issue with but will not start. Is this an issue with the contacts or should I just open the cart up and clean it. Nothing's loose, pins cleaned with rubbing alcohol...ect. I'm flummoxed |

I know everybody says this doesn't work, but try blowing on the cartridge and in the cartridge slot. I used rubbing alcohol on my Sonic Spinball cartridge, but it didn't fix it. One day, a friend blew on the cartridge and the game worked! I fixed a PlayStation by blowing inside the disc tray. It wouldn't load a game, but would play CDs. All I did was blow on it, and it worked! Give it a try on your Pop Breaker cart.

If you don't see any glitches then it's very odd - but a bad connection is pretty much the only thing that could be affecting it, if other games are fine.

That explains it!
(For the lazy: it's a Japanese game which doesn't work on non-Japanese Game Gears.) |
