Nas mais remotas profundezas do Oceano, correm rumores de que novos problemas estão prestes a surgir. Ao que tudo indica, a raça dos Vortex foi mantida pela Rainha Vortex, que se fortaleceu e criou um verdadeiro exército para iniciar um contra-ataque à colônia de Ecco.
