Most SMS cartridges use special ROMs that have built-in ROM banking hardware. They can't be read as regular EPROMs. Sorry to say, there isn't any universal programmer that can read these ROMs, you have to make something custom for them, like these: http://www.smspower.org/smsreader/ http://cgfm2.emuviews.com/elec/smsread.php You can only read ROMs from cartridges that have mapper chips. But these are hard to find and identify. Many games were released in both formats. |

Are you sure that it can not be made? Coz how people write the readed rom into eprom's and it woks :) I think it's only need a conversion of the dumped file... Coz I don't think hw to read cartiges is really special like you said.. Universal readers are much more specialized that the hw build of these readers... For exemple here I have one game with 32k dump readed it seems to work but only apears blue screen when emulated.. I think it's only a rebuild of the dump by a sw like crc etc.. | |

Not sure what to say, the dump from your programmer is missing a lot of data that couldn't be recovered or ignored with a CRC change. If you want to dump the ROMs, compare the pinouts in this file to the 27C010 or other devices your programmer supports: http://cgfm2.emuviews.com/txt/smsmap.txt http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/2/7/C/0/27C010.shtml The chips have a significant number of differences IMO. |
