Gradius homebrew Sega Mark III / Master System version

Norix who is making the GG-LCD mode is working on a port of Gradius for the SMS

Very nice. I always thought that the Master System would be well suited for housing a version of Gradius, and this looks much closer to the arcade game than the famed NES version. There still seem to be some minor slowdown issues, though. | |

Interesting! Looks very nice but I hope most of the slowdown can be eliminated.
Do we have any information if this is based on some other version or if everything is being written from scratch? |

Just like R-Type and Sagaia (Darius), flickering like a boss.

R-Type disable level background so the boss can use the background and scroll. Here Gradius is trying to get both horizontal scrolling and big boss moving up/down which isn't really possible to get perfectly. It's already pretty bug it manage to use sprites in that way. | |
